The Senior Marketing Communications Manager – Wholesale designs, develops and delivers multi-channel communications aligned with the strategic priorities of the Optus Wholesale (“OW”). You will be an expert in B2B communications and jointly responsible for the development, implementation and execution of an integrated Marketing Communication strategy across the OW portfolio.

The OW Marketing Communications team is responsible for delivering timely, insightful and impactful communication across a range of communication touchpoints for OW Service Providers.

Your core duties –

  • Helping develop the Marketing Communications Plan in line with the OW AOP (Annual Operating Plan); 
  • Leading and co-ordinating the delivery of the activities in this Communications plan
  • Adopting a “digital centric” approach to create and execute on all areas of all OW Marketing Communications activities inclusive of website management, Linkedin page management, blog & case study development and eDM creation
  • Accountable for delivering high quality, targeted marketing communications to the OW customer base including e-newsletters as well as operational and product announcements;
  • Ensuing communicated information is correct and working with product managers and customer marketing to ensure the ongoing enhancement and development of all customer communications in line with business requirements;
  • Helping to drive Go to Market activity for new product development and creation of relevant product collateral and other campaign material when required; 
  • Enhance the market perception of OWS via press releases and media relations activities, including conference sponsorships and speaking engagements for OW thought leaders;
  • Provide internal communications support where necessary to the OW Senior leadership Team, plus oversee all marketing communication activity for OW, including ad-hoc project support; 
  • Help manage the execution of key OW calendar events, liaising with sales & external vendors, as well as supporting hospitality requirements for OW; 
  • Working effectively with internal stakeholders including corporate communications, network marketing and Brand, as well as managing external agency relationships;
  • Management of agencies and SOWs to completion; &
  • Effective management and tracking of the MarComms budget.

Your success will ultimately be measured by the performance of various programs, initiatives and events within budget and timeframe. You will build and actively manage relationships across a wide and diverse internal and external stakeholder base. 

It’s all about you …

  • Tertiary qualified in Business/Marketing related discipline, with experience in telecommunications or services industry advantageous;
  • 7-10 years Marketing Communications experience, underpinned by strong marketing knowledge and experience gained within a B2B environment/setting;
  • A B2B all-rounder with experience across a variety of Marketing Communications functions including delivering end-to-end marketing communications across all MarComms channels;
  • Sound understanding and experience in event management, digital and content marketing, plus management of agency and supplier relationships;
  • Digital and online experience, with strong skill in managing diverse stakeholders from communications, legal, technical staff and executive teams;
  • Excellent written communication and copywriting expertise, plus great presentation skills and creativity;
  • Solid project management skills, organisation and attention to detail, commercial acumen and client centricity;
  • Experience in management of agency and supplier relationships, plus managing to a communications and events budget; 
  • Has proven history of showing initiative, resourcefulness and pro-activity on projects;
  • Ability to interpret technical and product information, extract key messages and convert into meaningful communication; &
  • Strong IT literacy with MS Office, CRM’s, Email Marketing systems, Adobe Photoshop/InDesign, & Website CMS (such as AEM).
